The story of the donkey, the dog, the cat and the rooster, the town musicians of Bremen, is what everybody knows about Bremen. The city Bremen is a city with about 500.000 inhabitants. It is the bigger of the two cities which the small county Bremen consists of. The other one ist Bremerhaven, which is situated at the north sea. Bremen itself is situated at the river Weser about 100 km away from the coast. There is some industry like Mercedes/DaimlerCrysler and Airbus, but a lot of the bigger traditional shipyards were closed in the last
ten years. Bremen has an university with about 20.000 students. Therefore you find quite a lot nightlife and can easily meet young people.
